However, carbaryl is more readily taken up by the roots and moves to areas of active growth. On leaf surfaces, a half-life of 3.7 days has been reported. Webmeans that the symptoms of carbaryl poisoning in humans are different than the symptoms in insects.6 (See “Symp-toms of Carbaryl Poisoning,” right.) Inert Ingredients Most commercial carbaryl products contain ingredients other than carbaryl. According to U.S. pesticide law, many of these ingredients are called “inert.”7
